My previous block was over 20 years old and had no block health indicator, just a metal tube. After the storm, I decided it was time to get a new block. I have a Square-D Homeline Switch Panel and was looking for something that would fit my panel and have a VISIBLE display of the device status. It met both requirements and was available for download. I turned off the main switch first, then removed the cover plate. I had to move a few existing switches, but burying them was very easy. Do not attempt this if you do not feel comfortable working in the switch cabinet (220 V AC and 200 A). This is the service entrance panel to the garage. In the basement is another switchboard with all the switches for the house. A green status light is a strong indication that the device is working properly.
