Unbelievable, I connected this device to my Google Pixel 2 XL (Android 8.0) and started figuring out how to turn it on, set it up and such but nothing came up. After pausing for a few seconds and trying to figure out where to start, I realized it already works, right out of the box! All I did was plug it in and unplug other data connections and it worked flawlessly! I'm excited; This allows me to use my travel router in hotels by authenticating over ethernet, using my phone and cloning this device's MAC address to the travel router.
