Adding a battery is awesome, why aren't OEMs like this?

The first thing I'm going to say about this is why Nintendo didn't do something like this!? This controller is great because it gives you a lot more gaming time without having to turn off the joysticks. Joycons can also be charged while playing. This controller has a 1800mAh battery, so you'll have at least one full charge per joycon. The battery indicator is located on the back of the controller. It's also nice that there are indicator lights at the top to let you know if your joysticks are charging or if they're fully charged, which is a nice touch. Like the Nintendo shell, joycons are inserted from above. The material seems a little cheaper than the OEM joycon grips, but it holds up quite well but can feel a little rougher than other joycons. Joycons can be used while charging and this will not affect the operation of the joycons in any way. It is charged using the supplied Type-C cable. You can plug it directly into the Switch, but note that charging can take up to two hours, and you can also charge the joysticks while charging this grip. The Type-C cable seems a bit cheap so I actually replaced the cable with something else to make it a bit longer as the cable that comes with it isn't too long. Charging time will depend on your carrier, but I'll say my joysticks charge within an hour of being plugged in, which is nice. I'm not sure if it really stops charging when it's full. This grip will get you a ton of extra hours, but be sure to take breaks to reduce eye strain. The joysticks snap in pretty well and can be easily moved when I want to. As far as I can tell, this grip works very well regardless of hand size. I think it looks best with gray joycons, but all Nintendo joycons will work with them. Overall, I think this recording is a really good idea and I'm a bit disappointed that ninendo didn't make it. The grips are quite strong, providing a lot of extra power and improving longer play. The only downside is that the material looks a bit cheap.

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Too long to wait
