These Sony headphones have it all. If you're looking for a set of solid-sounding headphones but don't want to shell out the high cost of one of the many high-end headphones, these EX310LPs really should be on your shortlist. The redesigned format sits comfortably and securely in your ears, and the package not only includes a set of different sized earbuds, but also a set of different sized noise-isolating earbuds (meaning you get seven sets of earbuds in total). . . The package also includes a nice black case with a plastic insert to keep the headphones secure during storage, and Sony's ubiquitous cord organizer (should you want to use it). It's worth noting here that the shape of the earbuds themselves, strange as it may seem at first, actually does some "magic" to hold the earbuds in your ear and keep them in the right position. I suspect it won't be long before this shape appears in all types of headphones because it's really a step forward in the design of these components. I think what really matters here is that Sony pushed the technology back, if only incrementally maybe, but then didn't start increasing the price for the change (as Sony devices often do). There's a more expensive format of the same style (Sony MDREX510LP In-Ear Headphones) that may give you some incremental sound improvements, but to be honest I'm not sure what to say after many months of using each model. that doubling the price you pay for 510LP results in doubling the sound quality. These 310s sound great, are comfortable and won't break the bank. I often use 310s instead of 510s. Remember that with all earbud headphones, proper fit in your ear canal is essential if you want to experience the full range of sound reproduction. If the eartip is not properly positioned in the canal, the bass level will drop dramatically and the headphones will seem to produce a very poor sound. When connected properly, the sound is surprisingly rich, bassy, and with a wide, easy range that goes all the way up. Be sure to check out the different sized ear tips provided so you use the size that fits your ear canal. You may have to try several times to find out which one fits best. You can also experiment with the noise canceling headphones that come with this product. Cool. They may have a break-in period (some question if this design applies to Bud-style headphones), but mine sounded great right out of the box and I'm listening to them as I write this review. The sound is rich, full, resonant, with excellent separation and staging. They are extremely comfortable and don't feel like they're going to fall out of my ears any minute. So I'm happy with Sony, not only for this technological improvement, but also for the reasonable price. Try them out and see if you're ok with them. Five stars.
