bought this to use in place of my jetboil as it has fold out pot holders, for the money you can't go wrong, great as a base stove or just minus there no heat/wind protection but with some aluminum foil and a few holes for ventilation you'll be fine! Used this for a week camping in Maine, brewing coffee with it and cooking pasta. I will say that this is a very targeted source of flame/heat so you need to keep an eye on it or you will burn everything you cook except boiling water. Just drop it until you get to the right simmer and keep stirring!
