Poor workmanship fits water pumps
I usually change the seawater impeller on my boat every season. This time I decided to replace the case and backplate as well. When I received and inspected the Sierra 18-3150 pump kit, I was concerned/disappointed to find that there were uneven burrs on the ports on the inside of the housing from the molding process. There is no way I can assemble this pump and feel confident in its operation unless I sand or polish the areas smooth somehow. Next time I'll cough up the excess batter and use OEM Mercruiser parts.
