I don't have a problem with bed bugs, but my children have allergies. In fact, it's so bad they've been waking up here with nosebleeds all night lately. I can't guarantee it got better just because of the cover, but this week the nosebleeds stopped. Your mattresses are only 3 years old but hopefully this helps. It completely covers the mattress and/or box spring, regardless of what you use it for. I love that it tears around it. I was able to put the bedspread on the top bunk beds myself without even taking them off. I love that it has a zipper so it doesn't come loose and roll up the sides. It's very soft and even if her sheets are unraveling from all her tossing and turning throughout the night I hope it continues to help.
