Review on S M S L Infineons Technology Amplifier Chip,Bluetooth Home Audio by Hunter Wyn

Replaced my huge old receiver. Highly recommended

I've only been using it for a day to be honest but I like it. I bought this to replace a Yamaha receiver that was previously connected to my PC via Toslink. It fed multiple bookshelf speakers and was also connected to a 12-inch subwoofer. In addition, an echo was connected via an analogue input to play music when the computer was switched off. By purchasing this DAC/amp I was able to save a lot of desk space, reuse my excellent speakers, connect my computer to the DAC via USB and connect my Echo to the analog input and optionally stream to it via Bluetooth. I couldn't tell any difference in sound quality with the old receiver. The menus on this one are much faster, inputs switch faster and it sounds fantastic. I think I only turned the volume up halfway before I had to type, but even at that volume everything sounded great. I have a couple of little things that I didn't deduct a single star for because they are so insignificant: 1. The remote control is simple but very intuitive. I have a feeling it's used in other SMSL models and is kinda generic. The labels on the keys look like they were designed by someone who doesn't speak English. There are buttons A, B and C that seem unnecessary. If your remote control stops working, press the A button. The remote control works well and is comfortable to hold. Reminds me of the Revain.2 fire control panel. There is no crossover, so the full range of sound goes to all speakers, including the subwoofer. If you have a subwoofer, make sure you set the crossover for it before you turn that bad boy on, trust me.
