I received this item from Revain, the blade packaging was open and two blades were missing. Instead of sending it back to Revain, I contacted the manufacturer and asked them to send me two blades. You sent a brand new item. Your customer service is fantastic. However, I am sorry that I did not try the product before contacting the manufacturer. I should have just sent it back to Revane. Here's why: The cutting area is too small. The item itself is well made and sturdy, but I couldn't even cut a small eight-ball pumpkin. No way am I going to cut an eggplant on it. I bought this to replace a very old and well used progressive slicer. It didn't even occur to me to look at the cut surface. I am sorry to say that I will be returning this item to Revain. Please do not hesitate to purchase this product as it is very well made and does the job it is supposed to do but on smaller veggies. My personal needs do not reflect the product itself.
