Review on Portable acoustics Harman/Kardon Go Play Mini, 100 W, white by Micha Szymaski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A reliable product for all occasions, the quality is at the level.

Harman/Kardon Go + Play is a product for a certain target audience, for them this product is perfect, especially compared to the speakers from the junior brand - JBL. Go + Play perfectly pumps bass for its dimensions, reproduces high frequencies well, has a decent stereo base, the speaker is objectively better than many competitors in terms of price, but! This craft remains a boombox for listening to pop or dance songs, almost everything is ok for such music. In all other genres, a dip in the midrange makes listening to compositions very unpleasant (listen, for example, to Makarevich or Spleen on Go + Play and you will understand how their voice is lost, and this is just the tip of the iceberg). There is no need to talk about any level of Hi-Fi here. And the manufacturer himself, apparently, did not plan to compete with more expensive models from other brands. In a word, this is a good replacement for music centers that have gone down in history, but nothing more. 1. Go + Play, in my opinion, plays much better than the Bose Soundlink mini, if you do not take into account the tenfold difference in dimensions 2. Go + Play, in my opinion, is inferior to Zeppelin Wireless in sound quality in everything except bass. With bass, the situation is ambiguous: Zeppelin reproduces deeper bass, but underplays mid-bass, this is a characteristic style of most Low-cost systems from B&W. Go + Play, in turn, have some kind of magic of low frequency resonance in certain volumes of rooms, in other words, it sometimes “pumps” like a decent sub! 3. I only listened to Naim MuSo once in the showroom, but there are definitely no dips in the mids, like Go + Play has.

Pros
  • I use Go + Play for about six months, she wins back her money, paid about 13500 for it
Cons
  • The failure of the frequency response at medium frequencies. Cannot compensate for the lack of low frequencies at low volume levels, unlike the Bose SoundLink mini
