My Pixel 3 won't charge

How strange that generally great reviews can be so unconventional. The charger didn't charge - period. Packaged and labeled everything for return, then saw a review that suggested cable orientation was, or could be, critical to functionality. This block is clearly not like OME, where it works regardless of orientation. Not worth unpacking and trying again as I'd rather go with a vendor that either provides instructions on how to use it properly or just sells a product that works right out of the box.
