Attention - acute danger of tipping and falling!

Caution - Serious Fall Hazard! Although the design is simple and classic and the materials seem to be of good quality and decently constructed, I can only give this device one star because of one major design flaw. Simply put, this chair is a slip and fall hazard. If you lean your weight forward while sitting, your legs may suddenly slip backward, causing the chair and the occupant to fall to the floor. This happened to a 12-year-old child and an adult male of average build. I've tested this myself after seeing two others do it and can confirm that this poses a serious threat. You don't actually have to tip the stool over for it to fall. Simply lean forward so that your weight is on the front of the seat and the front of the stool is enough for your legs to suddenly slide back and tip over. I think the problem is in the design of the legs. They are curved at the front and the non-slip rubber feet are set too far back to prevent slipping if the foot wobbles even slightly forward. This may be less of an issue on a carpeted surface, but it's a real problem on any hard floor (wood, tile, concrete) where such a stool is likely to be used.
