Not as convenient as we would like. I bought three different chairs from Amazon and this one was the most uncomfortable for me. The main reason is the straight back, perpendicular to the seat. If you're comfortable with a straight back chair, then this chair might be for you. I chose not to send it back because I would have to take everything apart, put everything back in the box and then ship it back to UPS. I put a pillow on the back of the chair, which helped a little. The backrest itself doesn't move or recline, but when you recline, the backrest reclines. .I bought this chair without an armrest (I prefer an armrest) so that it can slide into the IKEA children's table. With armrests I would have had to lower the seat all the way to get the armrests under the chair but the seat would have been too low. The other two chairs I bought from Amazon were the Belleze ergonomic office chair with a medium back. Red computer workstation and Boss B316-BY Perfect Posture Delux fabric office chair with adjustable armrests. Both were more comfortable than this chair.
