If you're like me, getting rid of your beloved cat, or worse, "declawing" just isn't an option. We have 2 cats who love to scratch furniture although they have plenty of suitable scratching opportunities. Evil Kittens! A friend recommended this type of solution to me when I received new furniture. I put them on the furniture, which is not very easy, but not very difficult either. And no more cat scratches. The downside is my 3.5 year old grandson thinks they are a lot of fun to hold on to. Update June 2, 2021: They're still working on furniture *and* I've found a new use for them. My daughter's cat loves to scratch screens and run through the hole she made. Now that the weather is getting warmer this is a big problem as I can't open the damper to encourage airflow through the house. We looked at several options to solve this problem, including replacing the entire slider screen, purchasing a mesh replacement kit, and investigating magnetic screens. Neither of these will be a permanent solution. And then it dawned on me: Why not use these sheets? I attached 2 to the bottom of the screen while the cats watched. You know what it is and you're not going to touch it now. I can open the slider again!
