The quality of this foot is pretty good, it works almost perfectly on my Bernina 830 plate. In any case, this is something you never do when sewing (I do this when picking up bobbin thread, so I had to get into the habit of lowering the presser foot to pick up thread). So actually no problem! It seems to work quite well for straight and zigzag stitches as well as decorative stitches. So happy with the purchase! However, it doesn't fit my record of 730. It's just a small offset, a small zigzag.
