I like this charger so far but will update this review if I continue to use the charger and batteries; to see if the performance holds up over time. So far the batteries seem to be working fine and this charger actually charges my standard CANON brand LP-E8 battery FASTER than the official Canon charger. deceased Canon official CANON LP-E8 in a Canon charger, and then the same battery after it died, again in this LP charger. I only used one slot on the LP charger during testing because the specs say it charges at 800mA when charging one battery and 550mA when charging two batteries at the same time. With this LP charger I was able to fully charge my official CANON LP-E8 in about 90 minutes. It took about two hours in the official Canon charger. This may be because the LP charger is 8.4V at 800mA while the Canon charger is 8.4V at 720mA. Canon is also a few years older, if that matters. I also noticed that the LP batteries that come with this charger are 7.4V, 1200mAh, 8.14Wh; While the official CANON battery: 7.2V, 1120mAh, 8.1Wh - I haven't been able to fully drain the LP brand batteries yet to test their charge times in both devices, but they seem to last a bit longer than the Canon battery. Once I run out of both LP brand batteries I will test them in each charger for comparison. I would also guess based on the specs that it would take longer to charge two batteries in an LP charger at the same time than one, but I can verify that. even later. In summary this charger seems to be faster than Canon's at the moment and the LP batteries seem to last longer than the Canon batteries and when you add the ability to charge two at once it seems like a pretty good upgrade. Again I will update this review if I have more information or if the batteries suddenly die or create a black hole or summon demons or whatever but for now I have to recommend this product as an upgraded charger with 2 extra advanced batteries. i can't win *(If you found this review informative and/or helpful, please click Useful to let me know.
