1) The mounting screw spacing WILL be set to match the US wall box spacing but will NOT match the bar spacing. Typical US telephone wall plate screws. 2) The cable jack that goes into the phone is almost flush with the back of the phone and since the American style jacks protrude from the wall the phone will not mount flush with the wall. You can do without the plate, but then you should be able to crimp the RJ-11 connector onto the wire. 3) The phone is marginally wider and is a US electrical box so the drywall and rough cut can be seen around the box. In short, while it's a nice, discreet, lightweight, and unobtrusive phone, it's not designed to be wall mounted in the US. You'll have to play around with it more than a little. Also, the cable that comes with it is probably not long enough to reach the nearest phone jack.
