Good headlight lags a bit

Bought this headlight from Revain looking for something that doesn't require a monthly fee to record and store video. The flashlight has space for a micro SD card. The card can store weeks of data, depending on its size and device configuration, which is easily accessible through the application installed on the phone. What's good: We installed a light in the back of our house above our patio. The light was easy to install. Downloading the Geeni app and connecting to the device was also easy. The lights are very bright. I couldn't find a way to control the brightness, but they work for what I need. The device has a microphone and speaker, and you can hear and talk to someone through the app. You can set your device to send notifications when the motion sensor detects motion, and the motion sensor is VERY sensitive. Maybe too sensitive. If the user could control the sensitivity that would be a great feature to add. Night vision seems to work fine. With the device I can see most of the terrace and part of the yard. I configured the device to only record motion events. Can be set to record continuously. I installed a 32GB microSD card in it. After 2 weeks of pure motion recording, I used up about 8GB of storage. My understanding is that once the card is full, the device will overwrite the data. I used an SD card that we had idle. The device only accepted the card after it was formatted to FAT32. The app can format the SD card but the card wasn't recognized until I reformatted it with my laptop. The bad side: Unfortunately, the user can only access the device through the app. There is no website and there doesn't seem to be a way to access the camera with existing security software. This was a big disappointment for me and I almost sent the device back because of it. It seems that there are too many systems of this type on the market that are unable to interact with other security software that may already have been installed by other users. My second issue with the camera was how to attach it to the junction box. It comes with a faceplate that can be attached to the junction box in a variety of ways, which is very convenient. But the box itself uses a smaller three-screw faceplate, leaving the junction box exposed to the elements. This requires the user to devise some sort of system to protect the junction box. For now I've been using some silicone gasket to seal the junction box, but that would require me to come up with something that looks a little better. If it wasn't for these issues, I would have easily given it 5 stars. The device must work with the Alexa app and Google Assistant. I downloaded the Alexa skill but couldn't get Alexa to control the light. It wasn't a big problem for me. I haven't tried the Google Assistant app to see if it works better. UPDATE: After using this light for almost 2 months, I started having some other problems. For this reason I lowered my rating by another star. First, the device recently lost connection to the internet. This happened several times in the morning. Each time the user has to remove the device from the Geeni app and connect it again. Each time this happens, all settings and schedules are lost and must be entered by the user. It would be nice if the application allowed this information to be stored in a configuration file that the user could retrieve and reinstall if this happened. who control it. The most frustrating thing I've found when the connection drops is that the light stops working as a motion sensor and the light can't be turned on manually when needed. This is a major disadvantage of this product. I have other flashlights with cameras at home, and they all work well as flashlights even when the internet connection drops. Without an internet connection, this device is practically useless.
