Over the years I've been I don't even know how many nail salons offer gel manicures, acrylics and most recently dip nails. I like long ones and I like them with art and sequins. For some reason, where I live, long and shiny hair is not in fashion and all local salons are starting to move away from acrylic extensions. Everyone's on the dipping powder train (so they can take more and work less, but that's another tirad for another day). I started making my own gel nail polish about 2-3 years ago after a nail tech sanded my natural nail down so thin it was almost skin deep and then another nail tech stuck an orange wood stick under the other nail - that was literally . the highest 5 star bougie we have. Anyway, I started doing my own nails with gel polish and got pretty good at glitter and simple nail designs with decals, but they were always a bit short - no extensions. I tried making my own acrylics and it was a mess. I recently went to a brand new salon for extensions and after 3 visits they AGAIN drilled through my natural nails to paper thin painful ridges even after I told the technician NOT to use the drill on my natural nails. She insisted and I will not go back. This set popped up on my Black Friday Revain feed and I was like what the heck is polygel? So I went to You Tube, watched 1 video (call the Long Hair Pretty Nails show!) and bought this kit. I am. B. LOVE. I already have a UV lamp ($40, Revain) and an electronic drill ($18, Revain) and I already have a PH Bond ($8, Revain), neither of which are included in this particular kit (but there are more complete kits from the same seller), so I was already up to date, but all you really need that it doesn't have is a light, a PH bond, and some alcohol ($2, Walgreens). I highly recommend you watch some videos on You Tube (I really like Long Hair Pretty Nails Show and Naio Nails - both have lots of tutorials and ideas) and you can get your nails done too! There are a lot of glitters in my first picture and I really used polygel for the first time and I used shapes! I first made them so long that the shapes were bobby pins just to see if I could make it, and it was SO easy! All globes can be easily fixed with a hand file. So yeah, when I first cured them they didn't look great, but they filed and polished smooth very easily. They are also super strong. I had 3 inch long nails for about 30 minutes and then they were filed into a more manageable but long shape. pink gel applied to the molds and formed a new set. I sat down. Great product, has almost everything you need and I love the result.
