I compared a number of speaker options, including the dali opticon 2 mk2, the b&w 707, the monitor audio gold 100, the classic kef ls50, and this version of meta. All were good speakers, but very expensive. The sound of the previous classic ls50 and the ls50 meta version are nearly identical, and I preferred the classic models even more. However, the price of the meta version is 40% higher than that of the classic model, and while the design is simpler, the matte surface of the meta version does not look as nice as the lacquered one of the classics. As a result, I purchased the standard kef ls50, which I use with the Marantz pm7000n amplifier. I am glad that I decided on this specific model.
