These lights are a godsend! I installed them in our backyard above the deck and patio. The lights illuminate the room quite well, you might want to consider using a dimmer switch depending on your preference. The longest span was about 40 feet. I considered using a steel cable to support the string but decided to hang it without support. They seem to be quite durable even in gusty winds. Pay attention to the correct installation of the lights. I drove the eyebolts into the trees/house. I then used the quick connector to attach the lights to the studs. I also used some heavy duty zip ties to reinforce these mounting points in case the factory bracket on the headlights fails. I would recommend having an extra pair of hands for this project, it took my girlfriend and I about 1.5 hours to complete the installation.
