Review on 🔴 Red Syma X11 Remote Control Quadcopter by Sean Maples

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would like to give more than 5 stars!

The only reason I gave this 5 stars is because there was nothing else to say. This is an incredibly good quadcopter at a great price. At low speeds it is controllable enough to fly in tight spaces. Find a soccer field, switch it to high stakes and it's a tiger. If you're flying it outdoors, keep it close enough or you can get lost very easily due to the speed it's capable of and its small size. The support protection that comes with it is hardly bulky and makes it almost indestructible. I hit a wall with it and it just bounces off and keeps running. The other day I was flying it in my garden and it flew into a tangle of branches and again it just jumped up and never fell to the ground. The X11 is capable of handling high winds in the hands of an inexperienced pilot at high speeds. To be honest, flying an RC plane in the wind is probably about 85% piloting skill and 15% aircraft. So if you are just starting out, be careful when flying outdoors in windy conditions. I also have an X5C, and the X11 handles the wind significantly better, probably due to the lower body weight the wind can catch and the extreme power-to-weight ratio of this little beast. The included 200mAh battery will give you around 5 or 6 minutes of flight time. Remember that the low voltage alarm (flashing LEDs) is basically useless as it sounds about 10 seconds before power off. If you're flying over anything outdoors, it's highly recommended that you use a timer, buy extra batteries, and be careful with flight times. If you're 50 feet in the air over a tree or building when it starts blinking, you don't have time to save it. There are several larger capacity spare batteries that fit this quad, although some of them are quite tight. I bought a set of five 240mah batteries for a Hubsan quadcopter. They fit, but some of them are pretty tight. I'll probably put a piece of velcro on the bottom and attach batteries there for convenience. There are people using up to 500mah but be careful with this type of ATV. You don't want it flying long enough to heat up the motors, and you don't want to put too much weight on it. Every airplane, helicopter or ATV has a trade-off between more power and more weight. If I complain about that, it's that it comes with an X-Box controller and not the cooler designs of other Syma products. It works great and has good range, but it takes a little getting used to if you're used to more traditional controllers. I heard it will fly with the new version X5C controller. My X5C is the original version and it is not recognized. Overall I would say this is a great quadcopter for the beginner or experienced pilot looking for fun in the pocket.
