Review on Syma X5SW-V3 WiFi FPV Drone with Camera 🚁 - 2.4Ghz 4CH 6-Axis Gyro RC Quadcopter in White by Ronald Lunn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice little quad for beginners, LOVE IT.

This little thing is so much fun! Easy to control in low mode. For high mode, make sure you have enough space because this thing is coming! Easy connection to your smartphone with the right app (get Syma DRONE FPV+), not the best video but still good enough for pretty much any general video. I've hit almost everything inside and outside of my home with this thing! He even flew away from me in a gust of wind that carried him four or five streets away from me! It was a dot in the sky and I could still control it, albeit not very well as a beginner, but this thing has amazing range! If I had been a better pilot with him I might have put him back in his seat, but another gust of wind and he was gone. I turned off the power and grabbed my car keys. I figured, as incredible as it sounded, that I'd head roughly in the direction he was last seen and try to pick up a Wi-Fi signal to try to find him. Well I found it in my front yard about 6 blocks from here. sitting in the grass, right side up and ready to fly! THIS IS HARD WORK! After crashing into everything in my house, it just fell about 50 feet and worked like it just came out of the box! Nothing broke, I just had to fold back the soft plastic guards out of the way of the propellers and I was able to fly again! In the room. Observations: Headless mode is a MUST for newbies like me. I missed it because I didn't know how to activate it. However. I've noticed that the quad gets confused and rearranges itself in weird directions if you spin it hard or if it hits something that causes it to tip over. For example, the side between the red and green lights could be the front. I often have to land it, turn it off, and plug it back in. a pain in the butt when you also start the video because you also have to connect the phone. Sometimes management can fix a headlong error with their reorientation procedures, but not always. The quadcopter loses quite a bit of battery power before the lights start flashing. This is normal in light winds. maybe 8 or less. but almost impossible at speeds over 10 km/h. Don't try to turn inside unless you have a vaulted ceiling. 8 feet is NOT ENOUGH. The quad will rise about 30cm to complete the flip, then lose a little height during the flip and a little more to float again. By doing this on the inside, he will hit the ceiling, the floor, or both. take a pack of 1200 mAh batteries! They significantly increase flight time, are cheap and require no battery compartment modification. They slide in and out smoothly, like a glove, with no problems. If you find yourself having to flat out to maintain altitude, the batteries are pretty low and the flashing low battery indicator isn't far behind. In this case, you should consider moving it closer to replace the battery. You can extend the flight time when not recording by turning off the camera as it consumes valuable energy. You can also save some (minor) weight by removing the camera entirely when not needed. As a beginner, I decided it was better to take the camera off so I could practice flying longer. Once I got the hang of it I added the camera back to the quad to film some flights. Syma has several applications for different drones and not all of them will work with this one. The one that works is DRONE FPV + I bought a set of different colored spares. It has guards, supports and legs but the way this little thing has held up I doubt I'll ever need to use them but they're good just in case and they're pretty cheap. I LOVE THIS DRONE and can't wait to get a bigger one!
