Watercolor paper doesn't get any better than sheets. This is the highest quality paper I have ever used and I don't need any other brand. Cold-pressed paper is uneven compared to hot-pressed paper and produces more muted ink tones. I like to use this for darker subjects. Drawing with Micron pencils and pens is still very easy. I also like to use water soluble sketching pencils with this paper. This paper is definitely more expensive than the paper I started with in the big notebook from the craft store. But it's worth it if you're looking for a professional look and presentation of your work. Such high-quality paper requires a lot of work and time. If you compare the watercolor on this paper to another brand you will see a HUGE difference in depth and colour. It feels like Aper is doing most of the work!
