Just bought and tried this WiFi_Bluetooth stove before wrapping it as a Christmas present. HERE is what you need to know: The device is BIG! It measures approximately 14 inches high and the top (display area) is approximately 3 inches wide. This makes the display large enough (digits 1 inch high) that even an elderly person with poor eyesight (me!) without glasses can see from several meters away with glasses. Those of you with even near perfect vision can easily see the display from across the room or even up to 20 feet away! Since it is Bluetooth, you can use it with any Bluetooth mobile phone. You can use it within 30 feet (within 10m line of sight) with Bluetooth only. Also, you need to use your WiFi to stay connected to the device. In any case, you must first connect your phone to the ANOVA app, not your phone's bluetooth - although your bluetooth MUST be on for the app to connect to the device. The app uses a special hidden connection method so it doesn't show up in your Bluetooth device list. So now you can cook without being at home, just with Wi-Fi! With that in mind, I must warn you that you must EITHER register for an ANOVA account (easy to set up) or sign in with your Facebook account BEFORE attempting to pair the device with your phone. Oh, you MUST connect your phone to the stove via bluetooth AND your phone's WIFI connection to the router. This allows you to easily set up the device over your home WiFi. If you have more than one router set up at home, make sure your phone is connected to the router closest to your "stove" for the quickest setup. Otherwise, it may take a few minutes longer than your patience will suffice. Get off the plate area knowing you'll stay connected. One thing to note is that the oven has an air vent along the plastic casing. Make sure you install it with the vents facing OUTSIDE of the pot you are using. Otherwise, the stove will absorb heat and moisture from the pan and fail. The heat from the hot water in the pot turns off the thermostat and the device thinks your water is much hotter than it actually is. In addition, after some time, moisture penetrating the oven leads to a short circuit in the electronics. My solution is to place the hob at the back of the pot with the display facing me and the vent facing the outside edge of the pot I placed it in. DO NOT follow photos posted by other users, or even the company's own app and website. If necessary adjust so that the stove is closest to you if you need to use the controls MANUALLY - Then when you have finished setting the cooking time rotate the pan so the stove is at the back , but loosen the upper handle of the bracket, now slowly turn the hob so that the display faces you or the room you are in. and set up a cooking practice (I recommend a cooking time of 1-3 minutes). This way you can see how everything is working: the stove, the app and your phone's own notifications for each step of the cooking process.
