I'm almost 60, live in an RV and heat with wood and propane. Winters are cold and I hate wasting energy and I didn't want to crawl under the house, hook up a long dryer hose to the vent and cut a hole in the metal under the awning. My son put me to bed behind the dryer in 15 minutes. And I connected a new hose that I bought. It returns heat and moisture to the house and the filter solves the dust problem. I am very happy with this device! I'm so glad I found it. Now when I have to use the dryer which I hate as it uses a lot of electricity, at least the heat generated is used to heat my house. In the summer I hang rags outside or disconnect the hose and vent outside, then pour some water in the pan and add lavender. Works perfectly. I was hooked up to a Fisher and Paykel dryer
