Not very well made but compact

I like the design of this tape measure, but unfortunately it's not very well made. As expected for the price. The first inch was too short, so the first inch is actually only 0.8 inch (see photo). I have to remember to round up when using this. The measurement is not in a unit of value which I was hoping this would somehow show inches for quick measurements but then again if you refer to my second photo none of the markings fall where the inches should be it does indicate where the centimeters should be *kinda*, they don't measure with this device either. The whole thing is 1.25 inches wide instead of one inch as hoped. I couldn't find any information about the actual size of this item anywhere in the description and had to guess. I'll ignore the units of measure and stamp or engrave lines on this thing myself. I just wanted a tiny, accurate tape measure. It's the smallest I could find and as expected it's more of a toy than a tool. It opens up to 32 inches, but it seems like the spring mechanism probably won't hold up. Pulling him to the last inch is a challenge and he seems short-tempered. I hope I can get some use out of it.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
