Watch a few YouTube videos to learn how to create different column designs. I found that the plastic clips aren't really necessary as you can attach the quads directly to the bar. I bought 12" balloons and inflated 40 balloons of about 8.5" with an electric pump. After I squared the balloons, it took my teenage daughter and I about 20 minutes to assemble the spiral design. My first Father's Day column is pretty solid and didn't need the included weights, but appreciate the fact that they were included just in case.
