We live in a rural area with lots of hunting and lots of coyotes. I didn't want my blue merle collies to be mistaken for a coyote and these bright orange dog coats are perfect. We use these jackets to keep our dogs visible when hiking trails or even near the edge of a property where hunters hang out. If you don't like hiking or live in the country, these reflective jackets are ideal for walking your dog at night so you and your pet are noticed by motorists. The jacket is very light, size XL fits my Cross Collie and Irish Wolfhound. Size XL is a bit too big for my older male collie who is in the photo accompanying this review. There are many protrusions on the adjustable Velcro strap, but the large size is not large enough to be worn comfortably. They reflect light when light hits the reflective strips in the dark. If you are walking your dog on a collar these jackets are great but what I don't like is that there is no hole to attach a leash if you are walking your dog on a harness. So if you are using a harness, be prepared to make a loop at the top of your jacket to access the harness with the leash clip.
