Very Hard Work - Drum Brake

This product is great. This solved the problem of my car trying to slide down the ramp into the lake when I put my boat down. If the brake system warning light comes on, more than just topping up fluid may be required. Your emergency brake pads may be worn out. There probably is. It's not a difficult decision. But on a 1998 Ford Explorer, as you know, it's difficult. Get ready to improvise. My car had TWO tension springs at the top. The emergency brake springs are very strong. Two feathers are worse. Worst of all is the spring hidden behind the shoe knot. I made a strong strand of paracord to clamp the inner spring; and attached it to a piece of broom to get a lever. Trust me, it's not going to be easy. Simple but not easy. However, I have saved hundreds of dollars in estimated costs by doing it myself. And next time I know how to do it. Five months later the brakes hold up when I launch or load my boat. I am an elderly gentleman in my 70's. If I could, you probably could too. Get ready to be disappointed. There are hinge pins that are simple in design but almost impossible to use. Surely experienced brake types will laugh at this rating. Hats off to those who do this every day. But Revain buyers have probably never done this before. Don't laugh at us. have pity.
