Review on πŸ›£οΈ Efficiently Organize Routes with the Enduro Engineering Dual Sport Route Sheet Holder in Black (Model 14-053) by Alex Marshall

Limited sheet capacity

I use roll map holders for dual sport and adventure rallies. My biggest issue with this holder is that it doesn't include enough itinerary; not as much as other brands I've owned. This problem requires me to replace the charts in the middle of a draw. The problem, as I see it, is that the rollers are not centered (seen from the side); they are about two-thirds lower than the face. So I can only fit as many stretch sheets as they don't touch the bottom of the inside of the holder. If the rollers were centered I could fold more pages. I don't see anything in the design that requires the roles to be where they are. I usually get instructions on 8.5 x 11 copy paper and cut/glue the sheets to size. To put this in perspective, I can only get 9 of these leaves in this video. Another problem I have with this holder is that the map moves on its own while driving. I'm fully aware that this condition occurs on cheaper card readers as the roller bushing wears out. But this is a brand new item, straight out of the blister pack and the reels are loose! For the first rally I used it in December, I put a rubber band around the second roll of track sheets and connected it to the two handles on the map holder to keep it from moving on its own. Finally, I would like EE to modify their reel chart holders to support frame mount solutions. Ram is the gold standard for anything that connects to a bike's handlebars and can chart for a wider range of positioning. Today's type of attachment (hose and clamp) dates back to the 1970s. On the plus side, the device (particularly the acrylic body) is pretty solid. The only good thing about the reel side mount over the top mount is that it doesn't have a cover that can be removed and many of the covers on cheaper models are hard to see on the route sheet. Despite its thickness, the EE window offers a clear and legible view of the route sheet. I bought it, installed it and will be using it this season, and then I'll probably go back to better known brands.
