Simple, efficient and easy to install. Enough.

Not many details on this product. He's held our 35 pound Schwinn comfort bike for a little over two years now. Installation was easy, I found a stud and attached the stand to it with the screws provided. Installation took less than 30 minutes. The vast majority of the negative reviews I've seen were related to a rack not being able to handle the intended load. I estimate about half of those reviews are due to user error. If the rack is properly bolted to the bolt, no bikes should fall off. Be damn sure you hit a hairpin. I used the old fashioned magnet on string method to find the stud, I find this method more reliable than electronic stud finders. If the magnet sticks to the wall, you've found the drywall screw attached to the post. Another common complaint I saw was screw stripping. I haven't had this problem. Probably because I put a lot of pressure on the screw when screwing it in (as you should). If you don't push enough then of course it will break. Another common complaint was that the screw heads would break. Well, there's not much I can say about it other than that these guys were just unlucky... As far as rack placement goes. Mounting the rack high saves more space in the garage, and the downside is that it's harder to get/put the bike to/from. The benefit of mounting the rack lower (about chest height) is that it's a lot easier to get the bike in and out, but you might lose some space. Our garage is pretty tight. So when the bike is set low we lose walking space around our cars. Finally, the ends of the rack arms are well padded, so our bike didn't have a single scratch. All in all, this was a great product for us. It's simple, efficient and easy to install.
