Review on Fintie Built Apple Pencil Holder Tablet Accessories for Bags, Cases & Sleeves by Daionte Simpson

Updated 4/17/18 -- Great case for my iPad Pro 10.5, it's perfect!

Update from 4/17/18: I've had this case for a week now, I like the design in general. However, as mentioned in at least one other recent review, the area around the volume buttons broke yesterday. This was home only with light use, so this is obviously a weak point. The corner next to the thin part of the frame doesn't hold tight, so I think it's pushing the jumper between the volume buttons, which is very flimsy to begin with. I initially gave the case an enthusiastic 5-star review, but that quick rejection revealed a possible design or manufacturing issue with the angle of the volume buttons. My ideal case, which I can't find, would be in this fintie design with a pen holder, of course with a more fixed angle, designed just as a back cover with no cover, and then use Apple's removable cover. I tried a full body soft shell product prior to Fintie, but it restricted access to the Lightning connector so the Apple Pencil couldn't be easily plugged in. In the end, I'm still VERY disappointed by Apple's incompetence and carelessness in not creating proper case variants internally. They just don't seem to pay as much attention to the functional details of their product offerings as they used to, a real shame. ========================= I love this case, this is a case Apple didn't even try to make it themselves. The pen holder is perfect and easy to use. It's also designed to accommodate a lighting port, which many other cases don't. The back cover fits perfectly, allows direct access to the power and volume buttons without the overlay button cover. The Apple Pencil has direct access to the Lightning connector for charging, something the previous case I bought didn't have. The sleep/wake function works great with the case, it covers and protects the Apple Pencil when closed and the stand function works well too. I'm just really happy with this case on my iPad Pro 10.5, would highly recommend.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • The list will be long.
