Mac users stay away

Installation: MacBook Pro 2018 Thunderbolt/USB-C running OS 11.6 and 12.2, connected with either the included Thunderbolt cable or USB-C 20GHz cable (each behaves differently). First, the monitor looks good. This is a nice addition to the standard Mac screens. I need the extra space this monitor offers and a single cable setup is perfect. I've been using this monitor for over 6 months now and thought I figured out all of its quirks. But I was wrong. This monitor is too expensive to solve compatibility issues. Bad: - I couldn't get a stable resolution that lasted more than a few weeks by plugging/unplugging or swapping cables. And I have to redo my settings every time it's decided that my previous permission no longer exists. - You cannot control volume/brightness from Mac unless you install third party software. - This is clearly not intended for Mac. When I first installed it I thought the resolution was too low and I couldn't get the right aspect ratio. I installed LG OnScreen Control.app and the problem solved itself so I thought it was my fault after all. He only needed a driver. Then when I switched ports, the permissions issues returned. Back then I just restarted the computer and the problem was gone, new resolutions appeared and I was able to enlarge my screen. It happened that I was still using it with the wrong resolution. Now that I was preparing for the system change and decided to get a new cable, I had the wrong aspect ratio problem again, but it shows up in the operating system at an even higher resolution. I've updated the system anyway, swapped cables back and forth, rebooted, checked for new drivers (there aren't any), to no avail. Now I'm typing this on a very stretched screen. I've emailed LG support and will update this review if I get anything from them as I may have tried some third party driver tweaks in the meantime but I wouldn't have all that hassle for a monitor at this price point should go through. Now I wish I had bought a pair of much cheaper monitors instead.
