I bought this item as an everyday lunch box for work. I usually throw in a few bottles of frozen water with my meals. The lunch box stays in my patrol car and the air conditioning is mostly always on. By lunchtime (about a 5-6 hour shift) my food is still cold so I haven't noticed any problems. I recently went on a weekend trip and filled a lunch box with frozen water. In the morning at 05:00 am I went out, packed my lunch box in my backpack and the next morning the water was all room temperature. I always zip it all the way up, so I was a bit disappointed to find the next morning that my frozen water hadn't gotten even a little cold. This lunch box is good for keeping food cold for hours but I would say if you are trying to keep food cold for 12+ hours you need to try to find something else.
