My daughter recently switched to this style of tights after other girls on her skating team received them and liked them . The Velcro closure is of course the main benefit, making it easy to put on and take off over the boot. The material is very different from your old tights - it's softer and warmer, doesn't hug or stretch like your old tights. All the other girls on the team say the same - no holes. these last much longer.
