Firstly, lately I've seen a lot of negative feedback about the removal of online features. I bought my Canary after this change so I can't speak about it. It looks like supporting previous users or opening up some features to those people could go a long way in this regard. My review focuses on my experience: I've had Nest cameras (Dropcam) for years, so I'm comparing my experience with them. I've decided not to choose the monthly payment yet to see what I get without the monthly fee. In my opinion, the options are similar to Nest and even better in some aspects. The only exception is the feedback feature, which is included with Nest for free (although I've never used it). Geo fencing is great. Due to geofencing and absence history, I have far fewer videos to see what actually happened in the house. The timeline is also more useful here than in Nest, showing status changes as well as thumbnails of important events. I don't think I even fully charged it the first time). Curious how long this will continue. Eventually I can run the power cord there, but until I'm absolutely sure where it's going to be, it's very portable and handy. I also like the industrial design of this camera more than other cameras. Looks very minimalist but unique. The magnetic base is very useful. In terms of monitoring, the iPhone app is easy to use and very visual. It took a few minutes to get used to the map-based navigation, but after that there were no more problems. Apple Watch notifications are also very handy. I even get a thumbnail of the activity - handy when I'm in a meeting and just want to see what it is. That said, I'd like to see more functionality here - like the ability to change status, start recording, or even watch live video right from my watch if possible - but maybe I should just pay more attention to the meeting, in where I am! :) In general I am satisfied with this camera. I hope Canary can solve the customer satisfaction issues they are currently facing with longtime customers as the genuine product and gear are of excellent quality. As a new user, I am very happy with this camera.
