Paper Gold Epiphany Crown

I ordered 1 set of 12 gold crowns for Epiphany (aka Feast of the King) as my family will be here with us. On January 6th I will be making a "frangipane or galette de roi", which is a cake made of 2 puff pastries (one on top and one on the bottom) filled with candied fruit (real and homemade, no cheap and pale imitations). dangerous colors and preservatives) and confectionery cream with almond flavor. This tradition has developed over decades, and that's why I won't hide beans in the cake, but porcelain miniatures. Whoever finds this tiny object in their frangipane disc is immediately declared king or queen and has a crown placed on their head; he/she must then find his/her king-queen to crown him/her. Next time, he or she must offer a frangipane. In the meantime, his/her title confers privileges on him or her, I must state :-) Coming back to these crowns, I stress the fact that their price for such beautifully made relief items is quite low; two forms, one geometric and the other more organic; both are simple and classic, just what I wanted. I have not found a better offer and I am satisfied. They are sold by Fun Express and come in 6 x 8 x 3 inches which is a good compromise for both kids and adults. I checked out the clasp which, like most paper crowns, can be a little flimsy, but with some tape to reinforce it should be fine. Now let's get this straight: paper is paper and it doesn't last, so once you know.

Pros
  • Cool item
Cons
  • Something different
