My favorite red so far. I use it alone because I love the orange base. A nice apple caramel red. I have had Black Box Color for over 10 years and have washed it out twice with color remover and also colored my hair with 30 Volume Developer and it was very even with my natural roots matching the color perfectly with the tips. I use it every 2 months and the color is always very even. My perfect Ariel is red. I think to get a consistent color you need to have certain color skills. If you only have natural hair, touch the ends first or you'll end up with hot roots. Since I removed my color I simply applied it to the roots first and then to the ends and I got an even result because my bare tips were porous and absorbed the color faster than virgin tips. Because of that, combined with the warmth of my scalp when I last put it on the ends, it ended right away. If I applied it to the ends first, my ends would be darker I think! Remember that!
