I like that this mug has a light. My nephew was overjoyed. Runs on 3 AAA batteries so I advised not to leave it on for long. But the lights change color with a simple push of a button. The mug is more suitable for older children because once the lid is opened, the spout becomes a hole and will obviously spill if your child doesn't understand the concept. Otherwise, when the lid snaps open and lays on its side, it doesn't seem to leak. However, due to the battery compartment on the bottom, this mug can only be hand washed.
