Review on PaceSetter 70-1325 Black Shorty Performance Exhaust Header by Rene Putman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They fit perfectly and look fantastic. The performance increase is nominal, but it's worth it.

Purchased for my 1996 REG CAB F250 4X4 with 5.8L engine. They fit perfectly and look fantastic. The performance increase is nominal, but they are worth the price for the looks alone. A few notes: 1) Black paint burns out fairly quickly from the heat, leaving an ashy coating. However, rubbing them very well reveals a beautiful metallic finish. 2) As with most headers, you will need to retighten after a few thousand miles as gear can sometimes come loose. 3) The right side seal leaked after about 1500 miles, but it was a quick and easy replacement with a different seal. 4) Finally, they fit perfectly into an existing Y-tube, and as with #2 above, you may need to retighten after a few miles. Since my '96 had all sorts of plugs and exhaust pipes, we had to weld a special plug to the Y-pipe to extend one of the exhaust sensors that used to connect to the old stock header.

Pros
  • Solid Finish
Cons
  • Damaged
