23awg it should actually be, but the Cat6 plugs that I bought right away mostly didn't pass the test. Being in a crisis, I bought an Ideals 23awg from Lowes. They worked better but still gave crazy results (line voltage, shorted pairs, crossed pairs, sometimes the line showed mismatch on 4 pins. I then tried the Ubiquitis Tough Cable RJ with similar results. The fourth brand was a standard -shielded Cat5e) . (24awg) connectors that I have been using for many years. Although it was a bit difficult to get the couples in, they went in and were tested. I doubt they are not compatible enough with 23 gauge. Also, the water barrier is VERY unstable. There were no roll ends at all, but I found that to be true at intervals. sometimes there, sometimes not.
