I've had this grinder for about five months and I'm still as impressed with it as I was the day I picked it up. In my opinion this is one of the best heavy duty 7 inch grinders on the market. American quality is second to none. Although it's on the heavy end of the spectrum, it's very comfortable and easy to drive when you can use gravity to your advantage, especially with the soft start feature that eliminates the effects often associated with the torque spike that I experience all too often get. I underestimate when it first turns on. For the last four years I have worked in a professional welding program that includes grinding machines from Bosch and Metabo. Although Metabo grinders can withstand more loads than Bosch grinders, Bosch grinders are much easier and more comfortable to use. Considering these two brands over Makita, I choose Makita unconditionally. It combines the quality and durability of Metabo with the comfort and handling that I love from Bosch.
