Review on Apoxie Sculpt White Modeling Compound (A & B) - 4 Pound: Versatile 2-Part Artistic Material For Detailed Sculpting by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If I could, I'd rate it higher if I could

I'm a cosplayer and this is perfect for creating certain details that I wouldn't be able to create otherwise! It's pretty easy to spot an even number by eye, but if you MUST have an equal number of A's and B's, you get a scale. The material is REALLY REALLY pliable once you start using it, and it spreads REALLY well over, say, rebar or whatever (I used rolled tin foil for mine). It stays soft for a very long time and is easy to smooth out with water. Once it's dried it's just as easy to add more apoxy sculpt if you so desire (I let mine dry and then glued it to the top of the stick and then covered the seam with more apoxy sculpt!). smooth finish, especially when you actually switch from medium to fine sandpaper. It's easy to sand down to the anchor if you're not careful (because it REALLY sands that easily), but that's easy to fix with MORE Apoxy Sculpting, or you can just add filler like I did with this problem. areas. By the way, it goes very well with the filler for the body. I had a few spots where there were creases or I had accidentally scratched them with my fingernail and when I covered them with body putty you didn't tell the difference! ) and I didn't have to work on a nice effect (I made light brown, some red, then dark brown). Overall, I'm very happy I bought it and look forward to using it more often in the future!

Pros
  • Hand Wrapped - You might notice a fingerprint or two when you open the new Apoxie Sculpt container - don't worry, it hasn't been used! Each container is carefully packed by hand.
Cons
  • Some bugs
