I've been buying these bags for many years. Although ready-made packages are quicker to pull out and replace, I think they are more convenient. As someone who has multiple aquatic animals and fish in different tanks, it is nice to be able to install an aquarium filter. It comes with filter bag, bag frame and activated carbon filter. I am my aquarium with aquatic reptiles. I found that the carbon filter media they provided was insufficient, so I use media from my stash. For my smaller aquarium I find that sufficient. It's also nice to fill them with whatever you need for the filter media. I will continue to use them and recommend them to everyone. Even if you're just starting out and only need a filter for one reason and it never changes, it's still great. Why not save some cash to spend more on fish or supplies.
