More cons than pros

So I had high hopes for this product. I bought it from a third party site and waited almost a month. Our AC was off so I was doubly happy to use it. Here's what I think: Pros: - Small and compact; it looks cleaner than a fan. The light is cool. I like that you can change the colors. - Pretty calm. I wouldn't say it's near silent, but it's quieter than most fans. - I like that it only runs on water. - The display is very easy to use. Air Conditioning Your product should radiate cool, if not cold, air. The air from my apartment is no colder than a fan. Another reviewer said she put ice in hers. Great idea, but unless you have very, very small chunks of ice I don't see how you can add that many. The water hole is very small in diameter (see picture, about the size of a dime) and the well is very shallow (I can easily see the bottom). My water meter is very difficult to read. When I first went to fill it in, I was overwhelmed because I couldn't tell where the line was. I have to wiggle the device, so to speak, so that I can see the water sloshing a bit to know how full it is (see video). - I'm not sure if this is a defect, but mine only lights up well on one side. It looks like it should glow from both sides and I can get a faint light from one side, but it's definitely not equally intense on both sides (the images above show different sides under the same lighting). - The door to close the water fountain on mine closes hard. I'm always afraid I'll break it. One side snaps into place, but then I have to wiggle around a bit to close it because the other side doesn't want to snap into place as easily. Even on the highest setting, the airflow isn't strong. You can adjust the direction (like a car fan) but even with it fully open I can get a lot more wind with a small table fan. I have to be right in front of the device and it has to be very close so I can feel the air. I have it on my bedside table, and unless I'm very close I hardly feel a breeze, even when it's on the highest settings. The price is quite high. I paid a little more than what Revain currently lists ($79 at the time of writing this review) and I honestly believe the fan is just as good, if not better, for cooling. I may have had too high expectations, but this product definitely didn't live up to expectations. my expectations. I can't return it through the website I bought it from (no error implied, I knew it would happen) but now I've paid close to $90 for a fan that barely works. I would say save your money on this one.
