Might be better to buy a regular NVMe

I bought my FuzeDrive when they first launched their hard drive on Revain after Linus Tech Tips posted their promotional video for it. However, this is just average NVMe with average software at a premium price point (1.6TB for $350). The highlight of the product is more software with the ability to assign a hard drive as slow storage. They promised support for the boot disk for more than six months without new versions (review date 09/13/21). You can only upgrade to a "slow" drive, but this appears to be a software license limitation rather than a hardware issue, which is unfortunate. I paired mine with a 2TB FireCuda. There are two pieces of software that need to be run on every boot: Fuzion and FuzionX - I don't see why it can't just be combined into one program. Neither program provides good statistics on the use of each disk. My Fuzion software only vaguely says it accelerates 8MB of data even though it's a game drive with 200GB of games. From a hardware perspective, performance is average (3000MB/s read/write) compared to other drives on the market. The drive is said to have shared part of the drive for SLC use, which should make it faster and more durable in the long run. HOWEVER, there is a much more important hardware issue where SMART reports 5% drive wear after 6 months. Their support page says it's 'ok', but I have 4 other NVMe drives that I've used for years that are still at 98-100% and writing A LOT more. Ultimately, you're paying a premium for an average product and the ability to scale your FuzeDrive with a single hard drive. If you're just expanding with a 2TB drive or less, I don't think it's worth the asking price as the price of 4TB NVMe is going down fast. As you scale up with larger disks, you may find it more beneficial. I'm working on an Intel system, but it looks like StoreMI is available for AMD systems, which I believe are the same product. I think for $350 this product should do better.
