Great fit! My dog is always between size medium and large because he has a very deep chest and thin waist so it's very difficult to find things that fit him. I followed the measurements in the chart and the vest fitted well. This vest has a full underbelly with velcro closure. The buckles at the bottom close with Velcro, so you can just slip them on, use the Velcro to shape your body, and then zip up. I bought her a large one and it fits really snugly so I can grab her pen and it doesn't slip out. Floating plates are thinner and not bulky. It is very comfortable for them, perfect for kayaking safety. My dog doesn't like swimming and we won't let him fall off the boat, but just in case he can wear this comfortably all day.
