If you want to save โฌ50, this is a good alternative to Aputure MC. For comparison, here are some pros and cons I've found so far: Pros Brighter Cheaper Good build quality Diffuser matches the light better Cons No app to change color You have to enter everything manually. Battery life appears to be shorter than the Aputure MC. There is no magnet on the back. The convenience of choosing colors remotely helps tremendously when you've already placed the light in a dark spot. This light requires you to set the colors in advance, making it difficult to fine-tune the colors once you've placed it where you want it. See me playing with the settings in the attached video. For that I give 4, not 5 stars. I would use it to pair with tungsten lights and as a hair frame/light. I wouldn't try to get exact colors as it can be tedious to do by hand, but you can if you don't mind spending the extra time doing it. For my workflow, I prefer to use my Aputure MC lights. However, if you are on a tight budget, the cost is your best bet. If you make it easier by using them as daylight and incandescent bulbs, you can get 2 for the price of one Aputure MC with a few tweaks. Having 4 of these lights for less than $180 is a lot compared to over $360 for the same amount on Aputure. FYI: I received this device to test.
