When I was upgrading my computer, I decided it was time to install a dual 3.5" drawer that not only had an LED indicator for each powered drive, but also had another indicator, indicating that it was accessed. SATA connectors "snap into place" as a loose cable is often the last thing on your mind when troubleshooting. The fully enclosed box simplifies installation and gives the appearance of a "finished" box. a week or so. Then I noticed that the top hard drive activity LED was not lit. I opened up my tower computer, made sure everything was fully plugged in, etc. Threshold, the LED showed power but never worked. I even turned my computer off and on again (just a reboot doesn't reset all the electronics). Bad luck. Maybe I should have opened it up and checked the wires inside, but I didn't. So they switched it to another brand. When it comes to my computers, I think reliability is more important than speed. In my opinion, it must always work the first time, every time, otherwise it will be repaired or replaced.
